Deliberately Me!

A journey for those seeking contentment in a deliberate God

Stop Making Me Wait!

Happy Saturday,

Stop Making Me Wait!

About 10 years ago (2008), the Lord started speaking to me in a way, that I couldn’t understand. Things, I hadn’t noticed in years, were now more visible (unhidden) to me. He would point out women to me in the store, or at restaurants. He would point out, that a cashier was hurting, and to pray for her. He would remind me, to pray for the lady with the child in the grocery store, which was throwing a tantrum. He even made me more sensitive, to the things I watch on TV; to the point that I felt like, why in the world am I so saddened (affected) by the lives of total strangers? And then, He dared to tell me, women were my passion. Huh?

Now, I don’t know about you, but most of the time, when God tells me to do something, it is NEVER anything I want to do.  So, during this process, I remember saying out loud to God, NO!

No God, I don’t want to get involved, with whatever you’re showing me. Like for real Lord, I am good with going to church, paying my tithes, and participating in the young adult group. All that other stuff was for people in ministry (and if we are truthful, many Jesus followers believe this).

At that time, I was good. I was reading my Bible and loved learning about Jesus. Why was He, trying to get me involved with anything else? Now fast forward a few years later (2011-2012). I don’t know what happened, but my attitude of rejection (refusal), turned into affection (love), and a passion to help women, see themselves as God sees them.

Why am I sharing this? Because I need you to move past your fear, so the folks in need of what you have, can be blessed. During my refusal period, I shared with a few folks, what God was showing me because I honestly didn’t understand.  A pastor told me “Lee, if God is telling you to do it, then do it. He could get someone else, but He called you!” Just a few years ago, when I was having doubts about my books. Another person said, “Lee, God gave you the passion to write, because someone is waiting on the story you have to tell.”

Listen Queens,

I have decided, not to pester you about Vision statements this year; instead I am going to say STOP MAKING ME WAIT! Sadly, too many of us, think it is the Pastor, the Bishop, the First Lady, or Worship leader’s job, to be the Church. WE ARE ALL THE CHURCH! While you continue to be ok, with just doing the bare minimum; someone is waiting to receive, what God asked you to do 5 years ago.

If you have a true passion for something, which YOU KNOW, YOU SHOULD BE DOING. DO IT!

I don’t care how many others have done it, I don’t care about the challenges you’ve drummed up in your head, I don’t care how hard you think it will be.  While you continue, to let fear be the Boss of your life, someone is waiting on what God gifted you to do.

Just imagine, where would we be, if Jesus had decided to wait and not died on the cross!

STOP MAKING THEM WAIT!

2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV) “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
