Deliberately Me!

A journey for those seeking contentment in a deliberate God

Are You Free?

Happy December 2nd, 2025,

This will be my last post of the year, and what has been on my mind constantly is the word freedom. I heard it a few weeks ago during a fellowship call. I have heard the word freedom in a few sermons. And it is also the emotion that I have been feeling physically and mentally.

I feel free.
I have not always felt free.

Free to laugh.
Free to smile.
Free to cry.
Free to share my pain.
Free to share my joy.
Free to be still.
Free to go.
Free to stay.
Free to believe when others don’t.
Yea…
I feel free.

The Word says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10, NIV).

That word abundantly means “existing or occurring in large amounts.” Some synonyms for abundantly are generously and lavishly.

Do you feel free?
Do you feel free to experience an overflowing of emotions whether sadness or gladness?
Do you feel free from being on display or having control over everything?
Do you feel free to say no?
Do you feel free to enjoy you?

Are you free?

You see… Jesus did not come as a salesperson to sell temporary gimmicks. Jesus did not come to bring freedom as the world gives in the form of live your life how you want, everything is free game, be you, do what makes you happy type of freedom.

Instead, Jesus brings a freedom that, if you have been touched by Him, then you know what I mean. A freedom that begins to show you the truth about things within you and around you. Freedom that releases you from your own damaging thoughts and behaviors. Freedom that removes weights that you and other people have piled on you. Freedom that says, I am loved by the Maker of Heaven and Earth.

Freedom to trust in Him.
Freedom to stop carrying the load alone.
Freedom to receive an unconditional love.
Freedom that says “I saw what you did and I still love you.”
Freedom to be vulnerable.
Freedom to say I am not ok, Abba Father.
Freedom to call upon Him for help.
Freedom to expect the Joy of the Lord.
Freedom to believe Joy comes in the morning.
Freedom not to worry about tomorrow.
Freedom not to worry about always planning.
Freedom not to be consumed by everything around you.

You see… He died not only so you now have the FREEDOM to have a direct relationship with the Father.

But He died so you could be free.

He came so you could experience the freedom to breathe slowly and be worry-free while standing in a storm.

He came so you could experience a freedom that, when life has taken unforeseen punches, He says, I know, and it is ok that you are hurt, mad, disappointed, and upset. But you are free to cast everything on Me.

He came to set you free from all the stress you carry in your neck and shoulders. I see you.

He came to set you free from those relationships that are unhealthy. And you know it.

He came to set you free from what you are used to, because your identity is in Him.

He came to set you free from the lies you tell yourself every day.

He came to give you life and life more abundantly.

He came to give you freedom.

Will you accept His gift?

Would you like to experience the freedom that Jesus can provide?
