Deliberately Me!

A journey for those seeking contentment in a deliberate God

Thank You for The Morning

Good morning, afternoon, and evening,

Lamentations 3:22–24 reads:

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul,
‘therefore I will hope in him.’”

Whether this is your first time reading these verses or you have them memorized, what does this mean to you? How does the reminder of God’s faithfulness, mercy, and love always being new every day make you feel? That it never runs out.

Before you continue reading, take a moment and let the Lord know how you are feeling today. For those that are experiencing gladness, then allow your heart to sing praises; but for those whose hearts are heavy, tell God how you are feeling. Do not hold back or resist this time for vulnerability with the Lord. This is your time to express what has been on your heart.

You know…a few things that sadness is referenced as is “despair, grief, sorrow, anguish, gloom, and unhappiness.”

Sadness is a very real thing, and today, I want you to make space to express yourself.

PAUSE and PRAY to Him
PAUSE and SHARE with Him
PAUSE and RECEIVE from Him

Take as long as you need…and then come back to the rest of this month’s blog.

Now, I had other thoughts for this month’s devotional, but I have been feeling waves of sadness. Sadness that sometimes I have wondered like why. Why does this keep coming up? I was fine yesterday. I know God has it…but here it is again.

Sadness has said hello to me a few times in the month of January. So much that I am over it…but emotions are not meant to ignore, suppress, or even be ashamed about.

They are real and naturally given from Abba.

And if we are honest, when you take time to express and talk to God about them…He is good at helping reveal the deeper meaning to them.

So for February, I want you to make space for your emotions. The sunshine happy emotions and ones that leave a dark, deep hole in your soul.

Because the reminder for us all is Abba’s love and mercies are new every day.

Every day the sadness might be there, but so is Jehovah’s love and mercy for you.

The grief might still have you shook, but Jehovah is the strong foundation that won’t let you be shaken.

Your doubt, your frustration, your annoyance, and disrupted spirit is still experiencing these occurrences…

BUT for every occurrence, we are reminded that His grace is sufficient.

Whatever you are dealing with, it might be time to start being honest about how you feel.

Don’t tailor or feel confined to a specific way of sharing with God. He can handle it.

My prayer is that through your true expression to seek Him above all else, that you will experience freedom, peace, and comfort.

You are not alone. Your issues are not alone. Your grief is not alone. You are not dealing with this alone (even when you have chosen to)…Jesus has been there. Jesus is there.

It is time…do not allow another day of holding in what was meant to reach the Father’s ears.
