Deliberately Me!

A journey for those seeking contentment in a deliberate God

A Season

Good morning, afternoon, and evening,

How are you doing in this first quarter of the New Year?

I apologize for being a few days late with the monthly blog, but for some reason March came quicker than I realized. This past Saturday, a good friend reminded me that it was the last day of February, and I followed up with, “Oh…” while feeling like something was missing, as if a few tasks were going undone (this being one of them).

But enough of the rambling.

Have you ever felt like you have no idea what is next?

You aren’t necessarily going through the motions, but you are kind of going…and the somewhere is unclear.

Have you ever been praying and asking the Lord if you are on the right track and doing the right things?

Have you ever felt you are not doing enough, or are you feeling like you are doing too much—or both at the same time?

Have you ever felt like things are outside of your reach, outside of your ability, outside of your circle, outside of your financial capacity, outside of your knowledge, outside of your remaining strength?

Have you ever felt you have more to give—and I do not mean in a busy way—but deep down you know the saying, “You were made for more!” That the Lord created you and put a good amount of uniqueness and creativity in you, but it is not getting fully utilized in the way it was designed?

Have you ever felt that way? Are you feeling that way now?

Well…periodically I have moments like, “Lord, is this what you want me to be doing?” And sometimes, “Why am I not doing that?”

Seriously, this is for you.

If you have been praying and asking, then shift that to believing our Father would not allow you to flounder about lost or underutilized.

Some seasons are meant for rest.
Some seasons are meant for preparedness.
Some seasons are meant to go full throttle.
Some seasons are meant for lessons through big speed bumps.
Some seasons are meant to be unknown.
Some seasons are not for you, but for those tied to you.
Some seasons are not for me, but for those tied to me.

But all seasons are meant to stay close to Him.

The good, the rough, the unknown, the “really God?”, the “I’ve been here before,” screaming from the mountaintops, and the valley lows of pain.

Nonetheless, there is a reason…

If you are questioning…it is not because He has forgotten or left you out. It could be just the season you are in.

Yes…I don’t always like when people say that to me either. But sometimes it is true.

Have you prayed? Then just expect.

Have you trusted? Then just keep believing.

Have you acted on your part (or at least what you know to be true)? Then just wait.

A new season is arriving, so until then:

Psalm 118:24
“This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
